CONTEST! Win a FREE DVD of THE SOCIAL NETWORK!

Hey Cin-e-Maniacs! Do you know what time it is? Its time for our very first contest! The rules for this is real simple. You see, we want to build up this website, and a lot of that has to do with you, the fans. Your comments, likes, retweets, everything helps us grow. But, you're probably wondering "what do I get out of my participation?". Oh, what, knowing you are supporting three college students in providing free informative entertainment isn't enough? Its not? Well, then how about we give away the movie that is currently leading our poll for what you think will win Best Picture at the 2011 Academy Awards (and I personally awarded 5 stars)? That's right, we're giving away a FREE copy of The Social Network! Here are the rules:

1. You must be at least 13 years old to participate.
   - The movie is rated PG-13, and as such, you must be that old to win .

2. This is a raffle. To get a "ticket" you must do the following:
   - 1 ticket if you follow us on Facebook
   - 1 ticket if you subscribe to our YouTube
   - 1 ticket if you follow us through Google (see sidebar)
   - 1 ticket if you join our forum
   - 2 tickets for your first, meaningful comment on an article
   - 1 ticket for every meaningful reply to a comment on an article
   - 1 ticket for one re-tweet of a Cin-e-Matic post

3. This contest is open to EVERYONE, including international fans.
   - If you live outside of the US, we may need to contact you about region coding

4. The contest ends on January 9th, 11:59PM EST

If this is successful, we might make this a monthly contest! So, spread the word, join the fun, and who knows, you might get a cool prize out of it!

If you have any questions about the contest or just want to contact us, feel free to drop us a line at contact@ipenproductions.com

Can you please define "meaningful"?

Admin said...

Something with at least some thought

Not meaningful:
"FIRST!"
"This movie rocks!"
"OMGZ NEWB!!!"

Meaningful:
"I agree. This movie was really good. I thought it did a good job of balancing unique characters and a fairly interesting plot without going overboard."

Something along those lines.

This is a really long period of time for a contest, won't it be difficult to keep track of all the "tickets"? What if people don't use the same name everywhere?

Good questions!

1. Length of time is in case we make it a monthly contest. We are already near the end of December, so might as well make it end of January. In addition, the film does not release until the 11th, so the contest would have to end past that date.

2. I am notified of every piece of info except facebook fan page likes, which I check daily as it is.

3. As for names, I thought about this. I will count it as a separate name, so while lets say Holly has 2 tickets, but gookygox has 1 ticket, they go in separately, but the winner would remain the same. If a problem appears to arise, we will go through each "ticket" but so far, seems it shouldn't give us any trouble. We will fine tune the system for future contests, should this one be successful.

This film was a pretty solid account of what they purported as the true story behind FB...of course no one but the 'zuckerberg and boys' gang can truly say what happened! I loved Finch's dark tone that he brought similar to his Fight Club ambiance, but what struck were the performances of Jesse Eisenberg and Garfield (which I hope sees Jesse as Harry Osborn opposite Andrew in the Spiderman reboot someday). Justin as Fanning was quite a tad intriguing as well with the switches in between the law-room and the recollections coming off in a smooth segueing fashion...and Timberlake btw always manages to pull off a well-groomed douche...I hope it doesn't bode personally :P. As for the end, it was a well fitted one as I felt some sort of regrets between the boys falling out in a silver line of them remembering at one time, they WERE best friends! Nice flick and seeing Armie Hammer bitch and moan, and Brenda Song shed that Disney image with her sexiness, made even better watches for me!!
