Film is my passion, and one that has lay dormant until recent years. I am a Media Studies major currently, with a minor in Theater, at Mercer University. I am a huge film buff and have a deep appreciation for all films, good or bad, and their significance in our culture. I find myself able to talk and write about films all day long (hence the creation of this website). Some of my personal favorite films include 12 Angry Men, Ghostbusters, Evil Dead 2, It's A Wonderful Life, Fargo, The Graduate, and The Departed. My biggest inspiration in my own aspirations to be a film maker is Martin Scorsese, though my style (containing much dark humor) is more comparable to that of the Joel & Ethan Coen.

Films have always fascinated me. I cannot pinpoint why. For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed movies. Whether it is a trip to the theater with family and friends, or simply watching a film at home, movies have always brought me immense enjoyment. I first discovered my true love for films when I was eight years old. My parents did not have cable at the time, so I was spending an afternoon at my grandmothers. While I was there, Turner Classic Movies played what has become one of my favorite films, Casablanca. I was spellbound. Never before had I seen such majesty. Before this, the majority of my film experience had been with films from the Disney Renaissance. With Casablanca, I saw the true potential for cinema. Only a few times in my life have I felt a feeling equal to that moment. Five years later, I rediscovered Casablanca, and with it, my love for film. From then on, I became obsessed with learning as much as I could about films. Now my favorites have grown to include, Casablanca, Cool Hand Luke, Goodfellas, Harvey, The Graduate, High Noon, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Giant. Those are but a few of the films I love. I now spend my spare time writing fiction, with the hopes of becoming a writer. I tend to focus towards near future, dystopian and the super hero genres. My writing style is also influenced by classic noir. I recently completed my first novel entitled “The Chosen.”

Movies have captivated me since I was little. For as long as I can remember, going to see a movie in theatres was one of the greatest things in the world. While there are a lot of movies I have not seen, I still have a strong enthusiasm for them none the less. Whenever I am asked what my favorite movie is, I have a hard time answering because there are so many that I like and so many that I still want to see. Some of the movies I really enjoy watching are Terminator, V for Vendetta, The Dark Knight, Clockwork Orange, Pulp Fiction, Dr. Strangelove, Spirited Away, and Inception. While not all of these movies would be counted as my favorites, they are definitely some of the more memorable movies I have seen.
